Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Sean Galvin brings a wide range of experience that positions GPAL to deliver full-service counsel to its clients. With dual degrees in Mathematics and Economics and a JD from NYU School of Law, Sean began his career at Goodwin Procter in New York City. At Goodwin, Sean counseled tech and life sciences companies through their most critical moments, including bet-the-company litigation, federal investigations, and eventual exit sales. After moving in-house, Sean focused his practice on data privacy and AI governance, helping advise a global medical device manufacturer on how to build a mature privacy program and quickly operationalize an effective AI governance framework to harness the potential of generative AI.

These experiences made Sean realize that there was a significant gap in the market for legal services: large law firms are charging ever-increasing billable hour rates while delivering less and less value, effectively pricing them out of the range for companies operating on a budget. From this seed of an idea grew GPAL, with the stated mission of building a tech native law firm to offer precise, tailored, and expertly crafted legal solutions for startups and enterprise companies at a price point that traditional firms simply cannot compete with under a billable hour model.

Outside of work, Sean is a devoted father of a toddler, two dogs, and a cat. He lives in Long Beach, California and when not advising clients he enjoys playing folk music, drinking craft beer, and hiking in the woods.
